Good evening, Unfortunately, I have to revisit my topic from back in the day....
Sending the proper reject-messages through the postfix works wonderfully, as long as it is an external sender. But now if a local sender sends an email to the full mailbox, again the Dovecot replies, or the program what generates the message mentioned at the beginning: ## Your message to <localu...@my.server.com> was automatically discarded: ## With your solution of using the Dovecot quota service as recipient restriction, I can manipulate the acceptance of the mail by the smtpd, but this is only external senders. My question: can I set up the recipient restrictions for the "pickup" module as well? If not, I guess I need to make all mail go through the smtpd not just the external ones, then can someone give me a tip on how to configure postfix for this? If you don't want this, then configure the system that sends this. Other option: do the quota check before accepting mail via SMTP.
