Hi,

Microsoft has this policy at https://postmaster.live.com/pm/policies.aspx

"After given a numeric SMTP error response code between 500 and 599 (also known as a permanent non-delivery response), the sender must not attempt to retransmit that message to that recipient."

That's not Microsoft "policy," it's a necessary part of the SMTP protocol as defined in RFC821 and its successors.

How can this be done with postfix?

Postfix always behaves that way.
