It wasn't obvious to me that using port 25 invoked different behaviour.

Because my filter is on a separate host, keeping the SMTP track on 25
seemed to make sense to me as a non-expert in this field. Reading the
docs where they use 10025 the view I took (correctly or otherwise) was
the choice was because it was on the same host and therefore had to use
a different port.

There was nothing to indicate that using port 25 would invoke different
behaviour. There's a whole feature there (loop detection) with benefits
that might not (I don't know) be documented?

So I'd vote that it's worth documenting as it would have saved me some
time messing around. But by messing around I learnt some stuff I didn't
know before, so that's cool also!
