I am subscribed to the mailing list. I was using the web interface because errors in my mail system ate most of today's list traffic to me and I wanted to be sure I was up to date. It should have occurred to me that the replacements weren't the list's doing (I probably reasoned that the hiding might be due to the web interface being very public while the mailing list is more private.) It was when I found that the "hidden"s were clickable and popped up some odd interface offering to email the user that I figured
it out.

Ok, it's nabble doing it (suppressing anything that could be an email when viewing the postfix archives on their service.) People receiving the email

Sorry for my confusion.

Yes ... it would be a lot easier if you simply subscribed to the mailing list instead of using a web frontend.

After all, email is what you're trying to configure so a mailing list seems like an appropriate interface?
