We just did a stress test on the posfix server we installed in are test lab= , specs: 4 virtual cpu and 4GB ram on a vmware esx environment. Test os ubuntu 18.04.2 fully patched Kernel 4.15.0.46 Postfix version is the one from ubuntu repo 3.3 We see when we send 45000 mails form are exchange server to the relay smtp = (postfix) that postfix loses about 14000 mails. About 31000 are in are postfix que and the rest is gone, on are exchange we= see the confirmation of postfix that he has received the mail is not in th= e postfix que. We see a very high I/O on the disk but still writing... CPU is about 50% Ram is 75% Cpu is most likely webmin gui, it is very resources demanding. My questions are. Witch parameter do I have to change to start throttling sow my mails aren't= lost? 45000 mails a hour is a real situation where we use the postfix in case of = problems with machines and the alerts they send. Second. A good web based gui for postfix, the people that are to use the po= stfix relay aren't IT people and they need to see how many mails that are s= till in que and flush them easily. Webmin we try bud to demanding on the cpu and to slow to delete a mailq of = 31000 mails..
