Roelof I asked the cyrus-sasl people and they said there is nothing wrong with my sasl. So I hope someone here can help me further. I still have the problem if I use dovecot-sasl or cyrus-sasl  there is no respons after I do ehlo localhost and no error messages in maillog or messages. Roelof
