Yes, that much is clear: not for the first or last time. I have
apparently been confused by this line from VIRTUAL_README:
NEVER list a virtual alias domain name as a mydestination domain!
Which I interpreted as meaning "do no expect addresses in a
mydestination domain to be mapped by a virtual alias."
The virtual(5) alias rewriting
applies across all address classes, as is evident from some of the
logs the OP posted.
Hence my last sentence with the trailing ellipsis. It demonstrably does
work.
