I should say that I haven't seen anything in mail.log that indicates an
error, or why the address isn't being bound correctly. openspf.org tells
me:

verifier.port25.com received a message from mail.ericabrahamsen.net
(50.56.99.223) that claimed an envelope sender address of
e...@paper-republic.org.

Any hints very much appreciated!
