Then if you or your customers didn't originate them, then they should not have been sent from your server. If you allow abuse of your mail server -- BY ANY MEANS -- then you have to take responsibility for what your server sends.

I mention this because I suspect it may have something to do with why
it's being classified as unsolicited. As I mentioned, it has a clear
unsubscribe policy and passed our normal spam filters.

Unsolicited FROM YOUR SERVER.  Your server, your reputation.

I didn't realize it was okay to top-post on this list.

Everyone has their own little quirks. For example, my quirk is to edit past messages so that people don't have to scroll down when I bottom-post. But that's just me.
