There's some general info here, https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Hardened/Debugging but it will never be as easy debugging on a hardened system as it is on a vanilla one. That said, this particular problem can be traced back to a bug -- one that will likely be fixed (see the PaX Team's comments on the grsecurity forum).
