Hi everyone,

I've built some Postfix 3.0 release candidate packages for EL5,6,7
(RHEL, CentOS, SL, etc). If anyone wants to install them on your EL
system and give them a bit of testing I would greatly appreciate any
feedback you have. Please note that currently these packages are
considered to be for testing purposes only and if you decide to use them
in production you do so at your own risk (not that they would come with
any warranty anyways).

These packages use the new dynamic database maps feature which means
that to get support for a particular database type you have to install
it's corresponding package (postfix3-mysql, postfix3-pcre,
postfix3-pgsql, etc) in addition to the normal postfix3 package. It
also means, however, that you won't have to bloat out your system
installing supporting libs for all the db types you don't use.

These packages are available in the Ghettoforge testing repository. To
install and use these packages please follow the directions for your el
release at http://ghettoforge.org/index.php/Usage and then you can
install postfix 3.0 with (for example):

yum --enablerepo=gf-testing install postfix3 postfix3-pcre
postfix3-mysql ...

Please note that these packages are not endorsed by Weitse Venema, or
anyone associated in any official capacity with Postfix. He doesn't
know me from a bar of soap and it's up to you to decide if you trust me
enough to install packages that I provide. When you install rpm
packages on your system the install scripts have full root access to
your system. They can install backdoors and other malware, mess with
security contexts, and do all sorts of other mean and nasty things. I
don't do that sort of thing with my packages, but again, it's up to you
whether you trust my word in this.

Thanks,

Peter Ajamian
