Hi, I'm setting up a postscreen instance in a multi_instance setup.
I've read the docs on the Deep Protocol Tests stage. The tests seem helpful but for course there's the fact that on a PASS of good-to-this-point mail, it "waits for the client to disconnect. The next time the client connects it will be allowed to talk to a Postfix SMTP server process to deliver its mail." If it's a 'small' delay, then sure. If it's a 'big' delay, then not so interested. I know that postfix allows you to change the retry/resend delay, but I'm not sure what the average "out there" is. E.g., what do Google, Microsoft & Yahoo typically do re: these delays? I looked at my current SMTP logs from other servers and see some resends, but can't really get a pattern out of it. Do most of 'you' do these type of tests and live with the resend delay? Or do users usually not like it and you avoid them? Thanks Roger
