There will be no address translation involved at all. The email address both user and domain will remain the same. The current system will be "retired" to an "off line" status yet the message store will remain accessible for various reasons, without the ability to actually send email to the outside world. I was daydreaming about ways to get messages from the old system to the new one, as might be required. For a bit it seemed feasible to cobble up something to allow messages to be sent via SMTP from the old system to the new, in a controlled and highly restricted manner.
