Yes s**t does happen lol. I've had delivery issues in the past, they
always respond with 421 or some type of error code, not time outs, but
here's what I am seeing in some tests:

If it starts timing out, every single message does, I have a multiple
ip set up and it happens across the board on every ip.

Once it happens, the deferral queue fills up with around 500-1000
messages, if I restart postfix it still doesn't work. If I clear the
deferral queue, and do NOT restart postfix, it still times out. But if
I clear the deferral queue and then restart postfix, 250 response
codes down the line. After a little time, a few messages go in to the
deferral queue and I start getting these time outs again. I repeated
the above about 5 times and each time same results.
