You miss protocol in front of hostname, else postfix wont know its

This is silly, LDAP servers are not web servers, and neither Postfix
or OpenLDAP will attempt to use LDAP with HTTP servers or HTTP with
LDAP servers.

sorry it docs, but it does not change problem that OP might have used
the incorrect config, ldap or http was just so i could get attention is
what i wanted and it worked, but i dont use ldap so i might be clueless
:(
why its not persistense is what i dont understand
