if somebody would ask me to create such "secure" setup, i simply would
overlay all servers and clients via vpn, with additional tls/ssl stuff
and gpg,
but for sure that would be a vpn solution  ( closed net ) not real
internet mail stuff

i guess you have to specify more in detail what exact youre trying to
goal, so how you define secure , what is the security policy you have
to setup, are you able to configure all connected servers, are you
able to specify the imap client for all users as a "must have" etc....
