Hello-

Ive been trying to debug timeouts on my postfix 2.9.4 +
dovecot 2.1.8 + mysql 5.x problems lately (when I find time to
dig into it) with no luck. Ive read as many online articles
as I can but still cant find the issue. This is a new configuration
using mysql and dovecot on fedora 17.

My server is a low-load server, just me getting emails on my
domain. I do get emails to properly deliver about 5% of the time.
I get timeouts at every stage:

timeout after CONNECT from outmail020.ash2.facebook.com[66.220.155.154]
timeout after EHLO from outmail015.snc4.facebook.com[66.220.144.149]
timeout after RCPT from outmail010.snc4.facebook.com[66.220.144.144]
timeout after END-OF-MESSAGE from outmail005.snc4.facebook.com[66.220.144.139]
timeout after DATA

99% of the emails are from facebook, and each one fails at every stage after
about 5 minutes. My server is not loaded at all. As far as I can tell my
DNS entries are fine (acceptable?) from the outside, including my MX record,
although
pingability.com reports 2 issues:

The primary name server per the SOA record (www.mydomain.com) on
ns1.mydomain.com is not an authoritive server for this domain (i.e. the primary
name server is a 'stealth' server).

There was a problem while talking with the mail server. Got
'SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out'

I should say, I have control over both nameservers (running on both my
machines).
They are statically set (no zone transfer stuff).

Im NOT using any antivirus scanners or anything like that, just greylisting.

Can anyone suggest where next I might look for the issue or would you like
me to post my postconf info?

Thanks,
Jeff
