I read somewhere on this list that it's not necessary to use proxymap for transport table lookups.
I guess that the assumption is the transport table is so small, making it unnecessary? The proxymap manpage says one of its main purposes is to consolidate connections to databases amongst various postfix processes. If this is desirable, why would you not use proxymap for transport lookups and any other lookups that reference a database?
