lmtp transport

I just started using Dovecot's lmtp agent instead of the lda via pipe.  
The "common" directions for this - which are working for me - is to 
simply set the appropriate transport in main.cf.  In my case:

virtual_transport = lmtp:unix:private/dovecot-lmtp
My question - do I need or want to configure a "dovecot-lmtp" in 
master.cf as well?  Is not having anything defined in master.cf the 
equivalent of:

dovecot-lmtp unix -    -       -       -       -       lmtp
