Keep in mind that a timeout under high mail volume strongly suggests some resource is being exhausted. The usual suspects with pre-queue filtering are RAM and CPU, but disk IO and network can also be overloaded. There are lots of ways to measure load. Make sure you look deep enough to find the resource that is being exhausted. -- Noel Jones
