The real question is: Why are you bothering to use Postini for outbound
delivery, given these problems, instead of continuing to send direct to MX?
Biggest reason is, if I don't relay outbound mail through postini, we lose the
'auto-whitelisting' feature where any/all email addresses anyone sends an email
to get white-listed (so will never end up in the spam quarantine).
in other words - anybody who knows your contacts can spam as
much he wants? whitelisting for sender-addresses is really
dumb if you understand how spammers are working
Maybe, and while in theory I agree with you, the reality is it simply
hasn't been a problem (for us). If/when it does, I'll reconsider.
What is 'dumb' is not using something that provides a benefit based
solely on a theory that turns out to not be a problem in reality.
(i was there and it opened the doors much too wide)
For you...
As I said, it hasn't been a problem for us - and the positive is huge,
as in the past, the biggest problem we had was when someone one of our
Sales Reps had been corresponding with for many moons all of a sudden
started showing up in the spam quarantine.
