No. Do not do that on the public facing smtpd on an MX.
If I may ask, what requirement forced you to enable SASL on the internal
mail server? It may dictate your course of action to resolve this problem.

Servers exchanging messages between them without any problem before
enabling SASL between them.
I needed to enable the authentication mechanism in the internal mail
server, for security reasons.
For anyone who knows the list of valid recipients in the domain, could
through the command line or even using a script or mail client, send
messages.
