Mailman 3, which is not too far away, will fix pretty much all of the issues anyone ever had with mailman - it will support real database backends for subscribers, and will fully support virtual domains natively. One of it's major drawbacks with virtual domains was you couldn't (easily) have two lists with the same name for multiple domains.
