why in the world are you not using the mysql-table directly in postfix

postfix does not touch the files

this sounds like a very ugly solution

postfix supports mysql directly and if your binary does not
for fedora as example it takes about two minutes get the
latest SRPM from http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/, enable
mysql-support and rebuild the RPM with a higher relase-var
