Your client probably lost or corrupted some file there.
chroot is intended for people with unusual security requirements,
not for the typical user. I use it on BSD systems which tend to
require fewer system files under /var/spool/postfix.
Thanks, I'll look into the /var/spool/postfix files that were included
with the package.
Also, it just occurred to me that I wouldn't have had to spend hours
searching through all of the almost-but-not-quite-relevant hits in
google if the error associated with
http://www.postfix.org/DEBUG_README.html#no_chroot was present right
there in that section. If it were a wiki, I could edit it to include
the error I got :-)
