Adding something like "tls=none/encrypted/verified/secure" would allow wimpy programmers like me to be more effective ... as writing a stateful parser is going to stress my admittedly small fund of programming skill.
Of course, at some point (perhaps at this point!), you'll want to put your foot down and refuse to add 'summary' information like this. Myself, I don't have much sympathy for people who then become unhappy with you, unless, perhaps, if they are paying you for your time. But generally, it seems to me that folks who become are unhappy are trying to get something for nothing, which is an empty project (does that translate well? I mean: 'unlikely to be successful'). Myself, I feel grateful for postfix as it is already -- thank you for the work you've done on postfix; I appreciate the ease and security and flexibility which your product has given me. OK, off to tackle writing a stateful parser ... :) --sk On 2/14/2011 4:51 AM, Stuart Kendrick wrote: > Hi, > > I would like to parse my mail logs each month and report on the number > of messages which were encrypted during transmission (TLS) and the > number which were sent/received in the clear (along with domains of > course). > [...]
