That would be the case if he specifically stated he meant /shared/ storage.
I didn't see that mentioned anywhere, just "mail store".
If both servers have a part, or a full copy, of the mail store, that by
definition increases traffic, unless each server only accepts mail for
mailboxes it actually has.
