That's vague marketing gobbledeygook. Are you trying to accomplish some actual task other than playing with this new persistent, full-duplex, efficient protocol? It sounds as if you have yourself a nifty solution in search of a problem to solve. Usually it's the other way round, in the real world. So, if you tell us exactly what your application is supposed to do, in layman's terms, 50,000 foot view, rather than giving us a half baked idea of how you think the guts might work, we might be able to help. >From that diagram, I see no reason why you're using email as the messaging mechanism at all. If you're not using IMAP or POP, I assume you're not permanently storing any of these messages? Are you driving them into a database? If you are, are you going to write a custom mail server in java to handle the inbound/outbound messages? Is this is web forum you're working on? Exactly what the heck is this app you're working on. You may have a really great idea, but so far, the two OPs to read and reply to your message are pretty clueless as to what you want your app, and presumably Postfix, to do. -- Stan
