You aren't serious? It isn't a matter of 'feeling'. Blocking port 25 for
residential users blocks TONS of SPAMBOTNETS. This isn't theory or
guesswork, it is a simple fact. It also relievs a huge burden on the
ISPs network (they no longer have to relay all that garbage).

Sure, and while they're at it, let's block ssh ports, too. I get a lot of ssh dictionary attack scans. Oh, and web servers frequently get compromised via bot nets, so let's block http, too, just to be on the safe side.
etc.
Then again, I don't expect this simple logical extension to what you are proposing will make you recognize the error in your logic.
