When you say "from the same system", do you mean from the same client
machine, using the same OS?

Is there are firewall, a pix, a proxy between the client machine and
your postfix? If so, look for tcp related bugs (window scaling, ... etc).

did the user upgrade from windows XP to vista or Seven? If so, look
again for a borked firewall/router/proxy.

Does the user run an anti-virus on his machine? If so, ask him to test
with the AV disabled.
