postfix-doc is the Debian package which supplies the documentation for
postfix. I don't know what was wrong with it but I assume that it had
become corrupted during transmission when I installed postfix. I noticed
that the "test" line in post-install was pointing to
/usr/share/doc/postfix/html. As soon as I removed postfix-doc the error
went away.
