We use postfix to accept mails at our MX servers and relay it to scanning servers for spam & virus checking
The problem is last week , I had the smtp service on MX servers hanging while trying to relay some messages. Both sending and receiving servers run postfix 2.5.1 ================ Oct 24 18:04:41 smtpout1 postfix/smtpd[14332]: 947ACFCE5B: client=websecure42.netcore.co.in[127.0.0.1] Oct 24 18:04:41 smtpout1 postfix/cleanup[14331]: 947ACFCE5B: message-id=<20091021070148.361aa2a...@smta1.netcore.co.in> Oct 24 18:04:41 smtpout1 postfix/qmgr[14283]: 947ACFCE5B: from=<idcale...@netcore.co.in>, size=304425, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Oct 24 18:07:41 smtpout1 postfix/smtp[14308]: 947ACFCE5B: to=<r...@darkstar.netcore.co.in>, relay=202.162.240.2[202.162.240.2]:25, delay=180, delays=0.11/0/0.1/180, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (conversation with 202.162.240.2[202.162.240.2] timed out while sending message body) ================= One such message is here ( with a Worm.Nyxem.E ) http://ecm.netcore.co.in/tmp/mail1.eml I manually deleted all these and the queue was cleared, Now I have a mime header check to block HQX. The problem is definetely at the receiving server , because If I send the same message to some other server the message goes fine. I want to know why the problem occurred. How do I trace this ??
