You mentioned mysql_alias.cf last time; this is mysql_domains.cf. You may want to double check each file referenced in your configuration.
Note that if you are using vim, it is smart enough to preserve the Unicode byte order mark and file encoding. Try pasting your expected content into a fresh editor session. -Rob
