my understanding is that OP was comparing "other people" stats. so it's not about the tool. OP uses what many of consider as aggressive helo checks. so he was asking for other people opinion/views. unfortunately, there's nothing we can tell him. reject_unknown_helo_hostname may be safe or not, depending on the environment. anyway, stats depend on - the checks that you implement - spam campaigns for example, here, I see a _lot_ of non fqdn senders since 14 August.
