dig localhost
host 127.0.0.1

good example on a working reverse dns

shurt:

dig hostname should give one ip
host <this-ip> should give a hostname that matches the dig <hostname>

i have created a faq now ?

and confussion might come from that one thinks virtual hosts is the hosts real 
hostname, but it aint

eg gate.junc.org is not the only hostname i have, if still unsure, reply :)
