My take is that for most users that is the wrong tradeoff.  A sensibly
robust setting with better longevity serves most users better than a
fine-tuned point-in-time optimisation for unrealistic threats.

my take-homes from this are:

-- generalized 'best practice' stats for smtp usage would be nice, but 
dream-on; lacking those, 'sensible' is ... sensible.
-- leave the pfx smtp tls settings at defaults, and move on
-- https tls depends on which clients i choose to serve; for me, it's _not_ the 
'public at large'.
