[I had to re-send this e-mail, as this mailing list's robot rejected the
attached screenshot because it was too big with 232 kB (!)]

I've been looking for something like that for a while and ended up writing my
own milter this week.
[...]

That is interesting, many thanks.

I have mentioned your milter in the German forum we had the discussion in.

In the meantime, I have learnt that Mailcow can check the sender address, see
the attached screenshot [removed, see note above].

The screenshot as text: Login as admin in the UI and look for "Edit mailbox", "Allow to send as".
You can tick the existing aliases and e-mail addresses, and additionally "Disable sender check for domain
example.com (+ alias domains)" and "Disable sender check for domain * (+ alias domains)". You can see it
yourself in the pre-configured online demo at https://demo.mailcow.email/

It is not clear to me whether Mailcow checks at SMTP level, or only when using the SOGo
UI, and whether it checks the envelope address (the SMTP MAIL FROM address), the
"From:" mail header, or both. I am mentioning it because its source code might
be a source of inspiration in this respect.

Best regards,
  rdiez
