This is now crystal clear. When I said ‘postscreen settings’, I meant the whole block that I added to the configuration for this. So not just the line that directly addresses postscreen. At this point I was apparently imprecise in my wording. I didn't need to set ‘-o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=no’ for smtpd as this is the standard and doesn't need to be added here. Nevertheless, thank you for your explanations and the patience you have shown for me at this point.
