As the operator of a "responsible" SMTP survey engine:

that connects just a few times a day (once per IP address of an MX host,
with deduplication when the same MX host handles multiple domains), I
would like to ask that you not just block every source that connects
without delivering mail.
Some survey engines perform legitimate research that's beneficial to the
Internet community and/or directly to the operators of the surveyed
sites, if any problems found are reported for remediation (possible when
the domain registrant is not too skilled at "domain privacy", the merits
of which are IMHO over-rated, relative to the benefits of being
reachable when there's a problem).
