I don't know anything like that, but from my side that makes a lot of sense, probably mimicking HTTP POST for almost all calls and turning a regular SMTP session into a single post call. I do vaguely recall haproxy & nginx being capable of SMTP proxying, but it's not wrapping it into HTTP.
