Yeah, I've been trying to get SASL working for quite a long time. I have passwords stored in MySQL in md5-crypt and have been trying to get some sort of authentication to work other than via courier-imap- imapd-ssl. Still no luck on that score.
Most of the readme's I've found recommend storing the passwords twice in postfix-admin, once in crypt and once in plain text. I'm absolutely not going to do that.
