My resolv.conf etc are standard.  I have made no modifications.  The host is a 
Debian host and its DNS stuff is set once and once only, in 
/etc/systemd/network/10-ens.network and that's it.

I know you're desperately trying to finger point elsewhere but I'm pretty sure 
you are barking up the wrong tree.  Everything else works, apart from postfix.
