The real intention is to distinguish between NXDOMAIN and NODATA,
whether it is then possible or desirable to be fully compatible with
the Linux approach is secondary.
The new message in fact does signal that the issue protocol family
specific, and perhaps with a bit of thought it is isn't particularly
surprising or misleading. Just perhaps unfamiliar.
