please do not quote full conversations. remove all but the relevant parts.

back to your problem...

1- reinstall the "maildrop" package (not "courier-maildrop")
2- once this is done, run the following commands:

        maildrop -v
        ls -l /usr/bin/maildrop
        ldd /usr/bin/maildrop

and copy-paste the commands and their output here.
