OK!!! :) :) I moved the .mailfilter to the '/var/spool/mail/virtual' and now
I get a different error (but which I assumes means something is working!!).
The error I get is:
"mailfilter file isn't a regular file". I will use the link you suggested to
build a basic .mailfilter file!!
However I have a question...
If Maildrop cannot access the database? The how did it now it has to search
for the mailfilter file in that location??

I am storing the email user information on LDAP database instead of mysql .
#man maildroprc (will give you the details about file location of maildroprc
and mailfilter files).
I am using Redhat Enterprise linux 5 and the location for maildroprc is
/etc/maildroprc.
