no, don't blindly change settings. the setting was correct (except for hotmail formatting ;-p). Next time, show the output of 'postconf -n' (with '-n') not the full postconf output. connect on your postfix machine and use telnet to test. This will rule out any virus scanner on your windows machine. if the connection hangs even on the machine, then check whether you have a problem with a milter or a proxy_filter. PS.
