Thanks but I have quite a number of different soures for usernames (sql, aliases, virtusers, ..).

since you use sql, put as much stuff in sql as you can. then use rsync to sync the remaining files.


Just thinking since one machine is already running postfix and "knows" all the valid reciepient names isn't there a simple way of getting that full list - surely it must be stored somewhere?

focus on the source, not on where data may have been copied. if data must be shared by multiple programs, design a way to share this data, instead of relying on one program to export that stuff to other programs.

I'm using recipeient_verification at the moment but I don't think that's ideal..

no, it's not. but as long as it works, it's enough!
