We run Postfix in front of an Exchange 2003 box. I currently run a cron
job every hour to pull a list of valid email addresses of users (and all
associated aliases) and Public Folder email addresses down from the
Exchange box.

Whilst we don't add/remove addresses terribly often, it's a guaranteed
way of making sure that any new accounts/email aliases are accepted
quickly if they're setup whilst I'm not here.

I wondered how simple/difficult (I'm not new to Linux but would count
myself as a "know what I need to get by" type) it would be to have
Postfix do an "on the fly" ldap query and just have it cache the results
for a period of time rather than each and every hour have it download an
entire list of email addresses?

I've had a look at the docs and Google and I'm struggling to find a "one
size fits all" guide.

Thanks in advance.

Paul
