Having a port means it can be upgraded whenever you get round to running pkg_add -ui, rather than having to check upstream for updates and handle them manually. Things seem to have calmed down a bit recently but historically there have been a bunch of security bugs with cacti, so imho this is a big help. > How would you install cacti via a package, in a chrooted environment or not?
