Well, I'v seen this behaviour some years ago. clamav-milter usually
died within an hour on a machine running OpenBSD.
On a Debian box, it survived for about four or five hours before
crashing or just stopping to work.
I never tried it, but according to mbalmer@, smtp-vilter is a working
replacement for clamav-milter.
